Germany Currently Better than America
Just when my overwhelming patriotic pride was reaching levels heretofore uncharted, Germany went and bitchslapped me with the invention of their robot restaurant.The restaurant, called Bagger's, eschews waiters and waitresses for gravity operated ramps that send food directly to tables. Customers order on touch screens, swipe their cards on built in readers, and wait for their food with a read-out that shows when the food is expected to be delivered.
The only thing that makes me feel slightly better about this is that the restaurant is located in Nuremburg—which still has that unfortunate ‘we-killed-the-Jews’ stigma attached to it that it just can’t seem to shake. But, let me tell you, if there was anything that could make me forget about unadulterated genocide, it is definitely a robot-operated restaurant. Also, a re-run of Law & Order: SVU.
