Joker Needs Some Cheering Up

When I first heard that Heath Ledger had been cast as The Joker in the new batman movie, I was upset that the producers had skipped over the obvious choice for the role--Rachael Ray. But, as I thought long and hard (12 seconds) about Ledger's freakishly large mouth and crevasse-like laugh lines, I began to accept that maybe--just maybe--they had made the right decision.

Now, with the release of the Dark Knight trailer, I'm back to being disappointed. I mean, is he really using "Why so serious?" as a follow-up catchphrase to "Have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight?"

Will Ledger's Joker spraypaint the MET? Fill parade balloons with poisonous gas? Taint cosmetics with cyanide leaving Gotham's news anchors disheveled and ugly? Where is the humor!? The maniacal laughter? The over-the-top love of turning order into disorder? Why so serious, Joker? (Ooooh… Burn!)

PS--Its nice to see that Katie Holmes made the totally correct decision to leave her role as Rachel Dawes. Nothing says "good idea" quite like leaving a franchise thats a surefire commercial success.

David and Gillian Become Mulder and Scully (Hooray!)

With filming for the X-Files sequel being right around the corner (Dec 10th!!), pictures have just surfaced of David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson sporting updated hairstyles--ones more reminiscent of their former FBI personas.

Now, you may be wondering at this point if every entry in this blog is going to be devoted to the X-Files sequel pending its July release. The answer to this question is, of course, yes. How could you stupidly think otherwise?
